What can a photo say about you?
Phones and cameras save hidden EXIF data inside every photo: the exact GPS spot where it was taken, the date and time, the device model and sometimes serial numbers or your name. Share the original file and anyone can read it, including the address of your home or your child's school.
PixMochi shows you what it finds, then removes it without re-compressing the picture, so JPG, PNG and WebP photos keep exactly the same pixels. It cleans PDFs too: title, author, the app that made it, dates, comment author names and leftovers from older versions.
Tip: before you post something for sale online or share photos taken at home, run them through here first.

Questions people ask
How do I remove the GPS location from a photo?
Drop the photo into the box at the top of this page. PixMochi lists what it found, such as the exact location, and gives you a clean copy without it. Your original file is not changed.
What is EXIF data?
EXIF is information that phones and cameras save inside each photo: where and when it was taken, the device model, camera settings and sometimes the owner's name. It travels with the file wherever you send it.
What does Remove metadata delete?
From photos: GPS location, date and time, phone or camera model, serial numbers, editing apps, names, comments and hidden preview images (EXIF, XMP and IPTC). From PDFs: title, author, the app that made it, dates, XMP data, comment author names and leftovers from older versions. The picture itself is not changed.
Don't social apps remove it anyway?
Some apps remove it when they shrink your photos, but many places keep it, especially when you send the original file, attach it to an email or upload it to a website or form. Cleaning it yourself is the only way to be sure.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device. PixMochi has no server that receives files, so nobody else can see them.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Donations from kind people keep it running.
Is there a file size limit?
Images can be up to 200 MB and PDFs up to 300 MB. Very large files depend on your device's memory, so on a phone it helps to do a few at a time.
